Will the Minister outline what support is available for small and medium enterprises who are looking to expand?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 20/09/2021

The Welsh Government already provides extensive support to businesses looking to expand. For example, the Business Wales Accelerated Growth programme provides specialist tailored support for start-ups and SMEs that have high growth potential, and The Development Bank of Wales helps Welsh businesses get the finance they need to start up, strengthen and grow.

Business Wales is the Welsh Government’s bilingual business support service for Welsh micro-businesses and SMEs including social enterprises, and aspiring entrepreneurs of all ages to access the information, advice and support they need to start and grow their businesses.

Any business looking to expand should contact Business Wales in the first instance who can discuss and explore the best options for the individual business.

We provide a wide range of tailored guidance and support on line via our business information website https://businesswales.gov.wales or businesses can contact the Business Wales helpline on 03000 6 03000. The Business Wales Helpline is available Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.

Looking to the future the Welsh Government is developing funding options to help businesses develop and grow beyond the pandemic.  Further details will be announced on the Business Wales website.
