What measures will Welsh Government put in place for remedy for residents affected by damage to properties under work commissioned through the Arbed or other energy-efficiency schemes?

Bridgend County Borough Council commissioned a survey of 36 out of a total of 82 properties in which issues had been reported. The survey concluded the external wall insulation on all 36 properties exhibited issues associated with poor workmanship and product failure. Evidence of damp and mould on walls and ceilings was visible in 27 of the homes surveyed.

The works were undertaken under the UK Government CESP and ECO schemes and I have made representations to the UK Government on this matter.  The Welsh Government has been working closely with the Local Authority to explore how best the issues can be resolved for householders. A proposal from the Local Authority, received on 6 September, is now under consideration.
