Senior officials and I met with the Chair, Vice-Chair, Chief Executive, and members of the Senior Mental Health Management Team of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board on 23 August. In addition to this meeting, officials from the Mental Health Policy Team met with colleagues in the health board on 25 March to discuss performance and operational pressures across mental health services. The next meeting is planned for 10 November. These meetings support the formal cycle of performance meetings between the Welsh Government and the NHS which are held on a six monthly basis. Outside of these meetings, very regular dialogue continues between officials and the health board in relation to performance and operational pressures.

Officials also meet with all health boards on a monthly basis to understand the operational pressures faced across Wales in mental health services.
