Since the launch of the Welsh Government's Train, Work, Live campaign, how many doctors have been placed in Alyn and Deeside?

The Train Work Live campaign, introduced in 2016, supports LHB and NHS trust recruitment through marketing Wales using digital, social media and public relations channels, both within the UK and overseas – promoting primary and secondary care careers. The marketing campaign also supports recruitment into postgraduate medical speciality training programmes. The campaign was transferred into Health Education and Improvement Wales’ portfolio during 2020-21.

Wales has achieved improved speciality training fill rates since the launch of the campaign as more junior doctors chose to train here.

The Wrexham GP training scheme, one of three covering north Wales, has also benefited from a higher number of appointments into GP training since the start of the campaign and associated incentives package. Approximately 51 trainees accepted posts on the Wrexham scheme between 2017 and 2021 (figure up to July this year).

The Welsh Government does not hold information on the number of doctors recruited by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
