Further to WQ82676, what conversations has the Welsh Government undertaken to investigate the possibility of waiving the days-let requirements during revaluation for those holiday accommodation providers who were already registered fully with the Valuation Office Agency before the pandemic restrictions were introduced?
The Welsh Government continues to work closely with the Valuation Office Agency (VOA). This includes closely monitoring changes to both the non-domestic rating and council tax lists.
To ensure clarity and consistency in determining liability, there are no immediate plans to reduce or temporarily waive the letting criteria for properties to be listed as non-domestic, self-catering accommodation.
Throughout the pandemic, the Welsh Government has provided over £2bn in support to businesses. In both 2020-21 and 2021-22, self-catering businesses have been able to benefit from 100% rates relief through our Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rates Relief. In addition, grant support has been provided during the various periods of restrictions, providing a vital source of revenue to businesses.
