The National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) publishes monthly data on the police use of COVID-19 enforcement notices issued under all emergency health protection regulations in force from 27 March 2020 to 20 June 2021.
As at 20 June 2021 Welsh Police Forces had issued a total of 34 Fixed Penalty Notices for contravening the requirement to wear a face coverings as required: 3 FPNs were issued for contravening the rules on public transport and 31 for failing to wear a face covering within certain indoor places.
Data relating to enforcement undertaken by Local Authorities (LAs) does not identify the specific type of action that has been taken.
