Will the Minister state how many apprentices have been recruited under the employer incentive scheme, and how many businesses in Wales have access funding via the scheme?
Our latest management information indicates that as at June 2021, there have been 2,663 apprentices recruited under the Welsh Government’s new employer incentive scheme. Of these, 243 have declared themselves as having a disability and 32 were previously made redundant from their apprenticeship employer. Our management information does not capture the number of apprentices currently in their position or the number of Welsh businesses funded.
However, this data will be available as part of the Lifelong Learning Wales Record which will be available following the publication of official statistics on post-16 education for the 2020/21 academic year, currently scheduled for February 2022.
