What discussions has the Welsh Government had with the management of Ice Arena Wales in Cardiff regarding reopening of the facility?

Answered by Deputy Minister for Arts and Sport, and Chief Whip | Answered on 08/07/2021

As stated in the Coronavirus Control Plan, ice rinks will be able to reopen in Wales once it is safe to move fully into Alert Level 1. The next 21-day review takes place on the 15 July.

Constructive discussions between the Welsh Government and organisations representing ice skating sports in Wales are ongoing, including discussions about the preparations being made to reopen ice rinks safely when we are able to move to Alert Level 1. The latest meeting between officials, the management of Ice Arena Wales and the relevant sport National Governing Bodies took place on 2 July.
