Will the Minister provide information on the number of people who have entered Wales that have stayed in hotel quarantine, and the number of positive cases identified by testing on days 2 and 8 of quarantine since February 2021?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 16/06/2021

From data on Passenger Locator Forms, from 15/02/2021 to the 06/06/2021, 810 ‘red list’ country travellers who provided Welsh residential addresses have been required to isolate in quarantine hotels.

During the period from 15/02/2021, there were 44 positive cases during quarantine from travellers who provided Welsh residential addresses, accurate at 08/06/2021.

Currently travellers can only enter Wales from ‘red list’ countries via a designated port of entry in England or Scotland and they must isolate for 10 days in a managed quarantine hotel. There are no designated ports of entry in Wales.
