Is the Welsh Government considering how to expand and extend flagship data-sharing initiatives with Dŵr Cymru, which help to ensure that transiently vulnerable members of the public, such as those shielding, are always prioritised for help during incidents affecting their water and wastewater services and safety?
The Welsh Government is working with the resilience community which includes the emergency services, local authorities and water companies on a digital solution called ‘JIGSO’ to enable emergency responders to plan and respond to major events such as major water and wastewater incidents. JIGSO will identify at risk properties across Wales in order to provide a prioritised response and securely share information to emergency responders on the ground in a critical event. JIGSO is currently being trialled with the resilience community and is scheduled to go live in the Autumn.
Dŵr Cymru will provide details of their Priority Services Register and provide the Resilience Community with a list of at risk properties to prioritise their response before and during a major incident or health emergency.
