The income received from third parties for use of the estate is from the BBC and ITV who occupy office space on a sub-lease basis in Ty Hywel. The income by financial year is as follows:

In 2019 the Commission received £15,934 from Urban Myth Films to cover the costs of using the Senedd estate for filming War of the Worlds. This included police and security costs, staff overtime and materials to protect building fabric.
