Answered by Counsel General and Minister for the Constitution | Answered on 04/06/2021
The Welsh Government has paid a total of £87,458 to counsel instructed to advise and represent the Counsel General for Wales. This figure is up to the point of the Divisional Court Judgment in the legal challenge to the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020. In addition, court fees of £682 have been incurred. An appeal of the Judgment has been submitted but not yet decided. As a result, the costs figures provided are not final.
