Will the Minister confirm when a decision will be taken regarding local government ward boundaries in Wales, and if the Local Democracy and Boundary Commission's final recommendations for the 22 local authorities in Wales will be implemented?
As I set out in my answer to WQ82425 on 24 May, I will be considering the recommendations from final electoral reviews for principal councils put forward by the Local Democracy and Boundary Commission for Wales alongside any representations received in due course. Any Orders arising from these considerations will be made by the end of September. This will enable local authorities to put appropriate arrangements in place for the May 2022 Local Government elections.
I appreciate the interest in these reviews from members, local authorities and candidates, both current and prospective and I intend to provide regular updates to members about progress.
