What action is the Minister taking to promote the adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s working definition of anti-Semitism by all Welsh higher education institutions?
As autonomous bodies, it is a matter for Welsh universities to decide whether they wish to adopt the IHRA definition, although I understand that a number of have been considering this. However, the Welsh Government takes very seriously its responsibility to ensure that individuals in Wales, including staff and students at our HE institutions, do not suffer harassment, discrimination, racism or victimisation. My officials will continue to discuss the concerns raised in relation to antisemitism and other forms of racial discrimination with HEFCW and Universities Wales.
