Will the Minister make a statement on proposals to make Section 43 of the Education (No. 2) Act 1986 applicable to student unions, and whether any such duty would extend to Wales or require legislative consent from the Senedd?

Higher education in Wales is a wholly devolved area and any legislation that is implemented in England will not apply in Wales. My preferred approach in Wales would be to address the issue of free speech through a discussion between the Welsh Government, HEFCW, the higher education sector and NUS Wales.
