Will the Minister consider allowing farms involved in existing whole-farm Glastir schemes to apply for smaller Glastir grants that would allow them to continue with capital work?
A further round of Glastir Small Grants (GSG) is planned to open for expressions of interest from 18 May to 25 June 2021, which is the last planned GSG application window utilising EU Rural Development Programme (RDP) funding. Whilst we remain under our approved RDP programme, farms with a Glastir Advanced contract in place remain ineligible for GSG.
We have no certainty of funding in any year beyond 2021/22, but as we develop support utilising domestic funding we have an opportunity to consider eligibility based on our future priorities for agriculture and the environment.
