What plans does the Welsh Government have in terms of further developing the use of technology for remote access to services and monitoring of patients with inflammatory bowel disease?

I expect health boards to ensure they are using all available technology to allow patients to access health services. There is now a focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in the NHS in Wales, with the appointment of a national clinical lead who is taking forward work on improving services for IBD patients.

NHS Wales has invested heavily in digital solutions to support remote consultations and reviews. This investment and roll out will continue at pace across all services, where appropriate. The introduction of video group clinics is being piloted at present and following evaluation this may prove to be a useful operating model for a number of service areas.
