Will the Minister provide an update to the written statement of 17 September 2020 on NHS Wales's carbon footprint and confirm whether the carbon trust has delivered its report, and outline whether there will be a wider consultation on the strategic delivery plan?

The Carbon Trust are currently finalising the NHS Wales Decarbonisation Strategic Delivery Plan. The Plan will be issued in early March.

This is the NHS Wales Strategic Delivery Plan and will set out what the NHS and its partners will seek to deliver and drive forward over the period 2020-2030. A range of actions will be identified that will have a significant impact in reducing emissions.

More than 100 healthcare professionals and experts have contributed to the development of the Strategic Delivery Plan. It sets out over 50 clear, ambitious and achievable targets for the decarbonisation of NHS Wales. In addition to Wales-wide targets, all NHS organisations will be required to develop Action Plans to demonstrate how they will decarbonise in line with the targets set. These action plans will be assessed and monitored on a regular basis.
