Will the Minister make a statement in response to reports that some individuals are being offered multiple vaccination appointments by both GP practices and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 05/02/2021

In order to ensure that as many high risk members of the public receive vaccination as quickly as possible, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is offering appointments in both primary care settings and mass vaccination centres, depending on where there is greatest capacity.

In a small number of cases, mass vaccination centre appointments were sent out before primary care contractors had updated their vaccination record to show a completed vaccination. The health board has been working hard with the digital team to resolve the situation as we continue to try to vaccinate the most at risk, in line with JCVI advice, as quickly as possible.

I can confirm that no one has been incorrectly double vaccinated as a result.
