When will the Minister outline the timetable for the rollout of vaccinations in care homes/domiciliary care in Bridgend for staff and residents, and will the vaccination programme be rolled out first to individuals considered to be most at risk in each home or to an entire home/business in one go?

My written statement of 4 January indicated that vaccination of care home residents and staff will be a key focus for the NHS over the coming weeks. We are following advice from the JCVI which has identified these groups as the highest priority for vaccination, along with those aged over 80, frontline health and social care workers.

The availability of the AstraZeneca vaccine will enable much more flexible and mobile deployment models to be activated so that every care home in Wales can be now be reached more easily.  All care homes will be included irrespective of how the care home or the individual’s care is funded.

The timetable for the roll out of the vaccination programme to individual care homes is subject to vaccine supply and is a key milestone contained in the Covid-19 Vaccination strategy published on 11 January.
