What actions will be taken at Gwydir Forest Park now that it has been included in the list of sites that will be part of the National Forest?

Gwydir Forest Park is one of fourteen exemplar sites on the Welsh Government Woodland Estate to form part of the National Forest. Awarding a woodland National Forest status signifies its quality and recognises the work of Natural Resources Wales (NRW) in managing the site. NRW will continue to manage Gwydir Forest Park to these high standards and has budgeted approximately £40k next year to maintain and enhance the visitor experience for the increasing number of visitors. NRW will also continue to work with the Community Group ‘Golygfa Gwydir’ in the park, including the planned reinstatement of an old arboretum.
