How is the Welsh Government measuring the impact on care provision as a result of the pandemic?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 16/12/2020

The Welsh Government collects and analyses a wide range of data and evidence from across the social care sector to monitor and evaluate the capacity of the sector to deliver services to those who need care and support and carers who need support.

Data and evidence is routinely shared between Welsh Government policy leads and key partners in order to monitor and understand the impact that the Covid 19 pandemic is having on the social care sector.  This collaborative approach ensures that the policies and guidance developed in direct response to the pandemic are informed by the most accurate and up to date information.

During the pandemic the range and quality of social care data has increased significantly and will be critical in understanding the long term impact that Covid 19 has had on social care provision across Wales.
