What steps are the Welsh Government taking to ensure that tackling loneliness is built into both local and national COVID-19 recovery plans?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services Answered on 26/11/2020

Effectively planning for recovery will be critical in supporting all sectors as we move from the emergency response phase and into a phase of stabilisation.  This period of stabilisation will be vitally important as it will enable us to reflect on our priorities and also build on the incredible range of innovative practice that has emerged during the pandemic.

During stabilisation maintaining the rights and well-being of all people will be our primary aim.  Our stabilisation plan will include loneliness and isolation as these issues have been so exacerbated by Covid 19 and are so critical to maintaining well-being.

We will continue to work with the third sector and statutory organisations to consider what further action may be required to reduce the serious impact of the pandemic on loneliness as we move into the next phase of the pandemic.
