Will the First Minister (i) summarise the latest arrangements for reviewing the coronavirus restrictions at the local authority level or more locally and (ii) outline the arrangements that are in place to notify people living in localities whether or not there has been progress in relation to the regulations following each review?

The Welsh Government has a duty to review the restrictions placed on local health protection areas every week and I have published a Written Statement each week in relation to this. The Technical Advisory Cell and Public Health Wales also regularly publish a range of scientific and technical information on the spread of coronavirus in Wales which inform these reviews. These data are combined with local intelligence from the incident management teams in each area.

We make the decisions and carry out the reviews in collaboration with local authority leaders and the incident management teams in each area. In addition to national communication approaches by the Welsh Government, our local partners also communicate these decisions directly with people in their areas.

On Friday the Welsh Government will introduce a two-week fire-break to help bring the virus under control. These national regulations will revoke the current local systems we have in place.
