Will the Minister confirm if she has considered establishing a fire safety fund to support leaseholders who face the cost of rectifying unsafe cladding systems and other structural fire safety defects in buildings across Wales?

I have been clear that leaseholders should not be expected to pay to rectify issues that constitute a failure to build to appropriate quality standards or where matters are in breach of building regulations.

In Wales, we have made good progress in terms of ACM remediation but there is still much more to do.

The Welsh Government has made a clear commitment to delivering reforms to protect people living in high rise buildings. The reforms are substantial and complex. There are no quick fixes.

We have set out the progress made and Welsh Government’s vision for the full range of reforms required to make the necessary improvements on fire and building safety in advance of a White Paper, which will be published this Senedd term.
