Will the Minister explain the health issues behind why camping is not allowed in Wales, especially if the campers have their own facilities for cooking and portable toilet arrangements?

The Welsh Government continues to take a careful and evidence-based approach to the easing of lockdown. The UK Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies and the Welsh Government’s Technical Advisory Cell advise modifications to lockdown measures can have a cumulative effect, and should be incremental, and carefully monitored.

We have adopted this phased approach to re-opening across the visitor economy.  On 10 July the First Minister confirmed that self-contained accommodation could re-open on 11 July following the latest review of the coronavirus regulations. The First Minister also signalled that providing this first phase of reopening goes well and the state of the virus allows it, tourist accommodation with shared facilities, such as camping sites, would open from 25 July.
