What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the proportion of contacts of Covid-19 cases that need to be traced in order to control the virus successfully?

There is no single percentage which can cover all cases. The percentage of identified contacts of a positive case in a residential care home, for example, is likely to be higher than cases in the community. In general, however, the more cases that are identified and their contacts traced, the more R is driven down. Our assessment is drawn from international evidence and advice from SAGE, NERVTAG. Our own TAG strongly supports the view that the proportion should be as high as possible.
