The Welsh Government publishes data every Tuesday on notifications to Care Inspectorate Wales of deaths of residents in adult care homes, including whether the death was believed to be related to COVID-19 or not. This data provides a timely indication of trends for all deaths to care home residents in Wales, from COVID-19 or otherwise.

The Office for National Statistics publishes weekly data based on death registrations, including the setting where the death occurred.

In addition the Chief Statistician published an update on 5 May explaining the different mortality data sources for COVID-19 in Wales, to aid interpretation of the data.
