Following the UK Chancellor’s confirmation to the Local Government Association that councils in England may access the furlough scheme for members of staff whose roles are not currently required and cannot be redeployed, will the Minister provide clarification on the same point for local authorities in Wales?

The Job Retention Scheme is a UK wide scheme run by the UK Government. The criteria and rules are therefore the same for organisations across the UK including devolved nations. Guidance has been issued to local authorities by Welsh Ministers.
