Will the Minister confirm if all non-essential building site work in Wales will stop due to the coronavirus pandemic, following the line taken by the Scottish Government?

Answered by Minister for Economy, Transport and North Wales | Answered on 23/04/2020

We are the only country in the UK to have introduced regulations to place a new duty on all workplaces to follow the 2m physical distancing rule.

These regulations ask all workplaces to take all reasonable steps to ensure a 2m distance between people, where it is not possible for people to work from home.

All workplaces should take a proportionate approach to observing the physical distancing duty. Taking these steps will enable many workplaces to remain open, including construction sites.
