Will the Minister give an update on the development of a workload and well-being charter and toolkit for the school workforce?
The Managing Workload & Reducing Bureaucracy Working Group was established to bring forward proposals aimed at helping address workload matters in schools across Wales. The Working Group, which includes representation from the trade unions, the middle tier and Welsh Government, identified four initial priorities, which I set out in an oral statement in June. The development of a workload and well-being charter and toolkit is one of these priorities, and work is being progressed.
Workshops took place in early autumn, attended by nominees recommended by members of the Managing Workload & Reducing Bureaucracy Group, and a draft charter is currently in development. Additionally, a Wellbeing Toolkit has been developed in partnership with the Health and Safety Executive and will be published alongside the charter in due course.
