What target waiting time has been set for oral surgery at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, and what was the number of individuals who were not seen within the waiting time target in 2016/17, 2017/18, and 2018/19?

The waiting time target for oral surgery within Betsi Cadwaladr UHB is the same as for all Health Boards and specialities, i.e. for 95% of patients to be waiting less than 26 weeks from the date the referral letter was received in the hospital to the start of treatment, with no patient waiting over 36 weeks.  The table below shows the number of patients who waited over the target time (closed pathway data).

up to 26 wks 26-36 wks ov 36 wks total seen % within 26 weeks
2016/17 6,144 1,010 1,527 8,681 71%
2017/18 8,686 1,142 1,597 11,425 76%
2018/19 9,429 947 1,125 11,501 82%

I am aware the health board has made use of outsourcing of patients to alternative providers over recent years and is looking to use in-sourcing of activity this year to reduce waiting times.
