How many people in Gwynedd own a Concessionary Travel Pass?

Answered by Minister for Economy and Transport | Answered on 17/06/2019

As at 31 March 2019 there were 31,491 live concessionary bus passes in Gwynedd. Of these, 15,441 were used during 2018-19 accounting for 1,231,010 journeys in that period, an average of just under 80.

We do not hold data identifying the specific purposes for which passholders travel. We have ensured that passholders are able to use their passes to travel for free on buses throughout Wales, at any time of day, and for any journey purpose, including travel to and from education, training, employment or social events, or simply to enjoy a day out.

Almost half of all journeys by bus in Wales are undertaken by concessionary passholders, demonstrating the scheme’s popularity, and underlining its importance to supporting a stable and more sustainable bus network.
