Following answers provided during First Minister's questions this week, will the Minister make a statement on the Welsh Government's refusal to create an emergency fund to help schools facing financial crisis?
Educational funding remains a key priority for this government. Despite the UK Government’s austerity programme and real terms reduction to the budget for Wales, we have taken action to support budgets for local authorities in order to safeguard front line services.
Each Local Authority is responsible for determining how much funding is allocated to each individual school. School budgets are determined by a local funding formula and authorities must consult their schools budget forums and all schools in their area when setting or making changes to a funding formula.
