Since the introduction of the policy of enhanced measures for persistently infected/chronically infected herds, how many of the herds which have been subject to individual herd action plans have become clear of Bovine TB/have had herd restrictions lifted?

In relation to current ongoing persistent TB breakdowns, 81 Action Plans have been drafted by Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) case veterinarians. 59 have been discussed with the keeper and subsequent actions are being implemented and 21 have become clear of TB and had restrictions lifted.

It is important to note, measures included in Action Plans are designed to ensure TB infection is truly cleared from a herd and, therefore, persistent breakdown herds may remain under restrictions for longer.
