Will the Cabinet Secretary provide a breakdown, by local authority, of the £2.4 million allocated for additional discretionary rate relief, and how does the Cabinet Secretary expect this will be applied?

Answered by Minister for Finance and Trefnydd | Answered on 18/12/2018

The additional £2.4 million provided for discretionary rates relief has been added to the Revenue Support Grant total for 2019-20.  This will be allocated as part of the local government settlement which is being published today.  The Revenue Support Grant is unhypothecated funding.  It is therefore for each local authority to decide how the funding is applied, taking account of local needs and priorities.
