What discussions has the Welsh Government had with the UK Government in order to ensure and maintain the supply of insulin to NHS Wales in the event of a no-deal Brexit?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Services | Answered on 13/08/2018

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), an executive agency of the Department of Health and Social Care, has responsibility for ensuring the UK's supply chain for medicines is safe and secure.  The Welsh Government is working with the UK Government to ensure supplies of medicines are maintained for patients following the UK’s exit from the European Union (EU).

The UK Government must retain a close working partnership with the EU, ensure patients continue to have timely access to medicines and ensure the UK can prepare for all scenarios following the UK’s exit from the EU.
