Following the recent Tourism and Agriculture Working Together event, and the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport's acknowledgment of the importance of the link between agriculture and tourism, will grants be made available to help farmers to develop existing or pursue new tourism-related schemes on their land?
The Tourism and Agriculture working together event was a great success and emphasises again that a huge part of Wales’ thriving tourism sector is underpinned by the landscape and amenities produced by land managers; they shape the landscape and the landscape is a major attribute that brings people to Wales.
That is one of the reasons why the Cabinet Secretary Energy, Planning and Rural affairs launched (10 July) a consultation document “Brexit & Our land: Securing the future of Welsh farming “seeking views on proposals for a post Brexit Land Management Programme for Wales –

Within this consultation document there are five principles for change, one of which covers an ‘Economic Resilience Scheme’ aimed at helping to strengthen agricultural income streams through a number of opportunities outside of primary production which includes renewable energy and tourism. Clearly the emphasis going forward will be on Tourism investment proposals which address market failure and deliver quality product.
