Will the Counsel General confirm for the past five years: 1) how much the Welsh Government spends on legal advice and representation by external companies, and 2) how much of that expenditure went to legal companies that have their headquarters in Wales?

Welsh Government legal expenditure is held as part of a wider record, including legal transaction costs, which cannot at present be extracted without scrutiny of a significant number of transactions. The information is not therefore currently available in the format requested and could only be provided immediately at disproportionate cost. However, the process of disaggregating is underway and information can be provided when it becomes available.
