What assessment has the Cabinet Secretary made of the Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill and have there been any discussions with the UK Government about the Bill?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Services | Answered on 27/07/2018

The UK Government introduced the Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill into the House of Lords on the 3rd July 2018.  Whilst the subject matter of the Mental Capacity Act is reserved under the Government of Wales Act 2006, officials are actively working with the Department of Health and Social Care and stakeholders across Wales to assess, consider and represent the impact of the Bill as it moves forward.
