What estimate has the Cabinet Secretary made of the number of armed forces veterans classed as homeless in each of the last 10 years?

The Housing (Wales) Act 2014 contains provisions that ensure people receive help to prevent and relieve their homelessness. People who have been homeless since leaving the armed forces are contained within the priority need categories and as such should be provided with suitable emergency accommodation.

 

Since the legislation came into force, for the years 2015/16 and 2016/17 the number of people that local authorities were under a duty to provide secure accommodation for, as a result of them being in priority need due to being homeless since leaving the armed forces, was less than 3 per year.
