Following the publication of the interim report of the UK Government's mental health review, how is the Welsh Government collaborating with the UK Government to ensure that any recommendations made in regard to legislation and practice will be relevant to Wales?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Services | Answered on 16/05/2018

Welsh Government officials continue to engage with the independent review process through membership on the Advisory Panel to the review. The Wales Alliance for Mental Health is also represented on this group.

The interim report sets out the approach taken to consider the current operation of the mental health act which included stakeholder events held in Wales

Welsh Government officials are actively working with the Review team and members of the working group to consider engagement with stakeholders in Wales. As the areas of priority and recommendations of the review become clearer, the Welsh Government will consider the relevance of these for legislation and practice in Wales.
