What actions will be taken by Welsh Government against those health boards failing to meet the 26 week average waiting period for a first appointment for accessing autistic diagnostic services?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Services | Answered on 01/05/2018

The 26 week neurodevelopmental waiting time target is currently being piloted with health boards prior to formal introduction. Piloting allows us and health boards to test the appropriateness of data definitions; reporting and data capture systems; and data robustness ahead of formal introduction. The intention is to commence formal reporting later in 2018 at which point we will work with health boards to consider what further action, if any, is required for any health board not meeting the target. Performance against targets is kept under review by Welsh Government and discussed at the regular meetings I have with the Vice Chairs of the health boards.
