Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on the outcome of the Welsh Government's request to Conwy and Denbighshire on 14 December 2017, inviting them to prepare a joint local development plan?
Following my invitation to both Local Authorities to optimise the plan preparation process and deliver better outcomes by preparing a Joint Local Development Plan, I have received responses from both authorities confirming they have the commitment, capacity and resources to prepare individual Local Development Plans. I have agreed they may progress individual LDPs subject to a number of stringent conditions in relation to the time taken to prepare the LDP, the need for effective collaboration on cross border issues and the potential impact of local government reform proposals.
