Will the Cabinet Secretary confirm what steps the Welsh Government is taking regarding future flood prevention works at Llandudno North Shore Beach, and provide the reasons this area was not included in the recent announcement of the £56 million flood and coastal erosion risk management programme?

Work is already underway, lead by Conwy County Borough Council, on a future scheme for Llandudno North Shore.  Funding has been provided through the Coastal Risk Management Programme to undertake an Outline Business Case which will be submitted to Welsh Government later this year.  This is the first phase of any potential future works for Llandudno North Shore.

The £56 million programme I recently announced contains the provision for preparatory work on schemes within the Coastal Risk Management Programme which includes Llandudno North Shore.
