Will the Cabinet Secretary publish the Welsh Government’s assessment on how guidance to: a) teachers, b) health care workers and c) social workers will need to be amended should the defence of reasonable chastisement be removed and what additional resources it would need to make available?
A draft Regulatory Impact Assessment was published as part of the consultation exercise on legislative proposals to remove the defence of reasonable punishment on 9 January 2018.
The Welsh Government will continue to engage with key stakeholders and use responses to the consultation in order to further inform and develop the assessment of the potential impact of the legislation. A full Regulatory Impact Assessment would be published alongside a Bill at introduction to the National Assembly for Wales.
