Does the Welsh Government believe there is a legitimate interest in the public having access to the personal information contained within the Corporate Intelligence Report on the Circuit of Wales?

As I have made clear previously, I am committed to ensuring the highest levels of transparency in this case given the significant amount of interest there has been in the project.

I have made clear commitments to the Assembly that I wanted to make available in the public domain as much of the due diligence documentation as was possible, in order to help members and others understand the basis upon which the Welsh Government made the decision.

In my answer to WAQ74399, I explained that Heads of the Valleys Development Company had declined any consent for the release of Grant Thornton’s corporate intelligence report, which formed part of the due diligence.

Publishing it without consent would breach the first data protection principle of the Data Protection Act 1998.
