Will the Cabinet Secretary present a report providing an update on progress in relation to leisure and business developments in Parc Bryn Cegin, Bangor?
Liberty Properties Ltd. is the Welsh Government’s preferred developer for the Leisure Scheme at the front of the site. It is currently preparing a planning application and securing operators for its proposals. These proposals include a cinema, five restaurants, a family pub and Welsh produce shop and possibly a Tourist Information Centre and drive through coffee shop. Liberty stated that proposals have been delayed by occupiers reviewing their investment decisions following the Brexit referendum.
The sale of a 5.7 acre plot for development of a new cheese production facility, for which planning consent has been granted, is imminent. It is expected that construction will commence in 2018.
Other enquiries for Parc Bryn Cegin are in the early stages of negotiation.
