In the draft budget for 2018/19, will the Cabinet Secretary provide details as to which BEL the £72,000 for chronic diseases was transferred to, and confirm that this will not result in a reduction of funding for chronic diseases?
Within the Health, Well-being and Sport MEG, we have reviewed the Budget Expenditure Level (BEL) budget structure, and have made a number of changes, necessitating a number budget transfers between BELs.
We have closed a number of BELs that contained specific budgets which are all eventually allocated to NHS organisations. This includes the Chronic Disease BEL where the funding has transferred to the Other Health Budgets (Expenditure) BEL. This transfer does not result in a reduction of funding for chronic diseases.
