What actions are the Welsh Government taking to encourage parents to make full use of child trust fund accounts?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Children | Answered on 26/08/2016

The UK Government ended the child trust fund scheme in January 2011. These have been replaced by Junior Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) which are funded by the Department for Education and administered by The Share Foundation. Monitoring and encouraging the take up of child trust fund and savings accounts, including information about dormant accounts is a matter for the UK Government.
